Ellie & Annabel ~ Newborn Sessions In The Home | Rapid City Newborn photographer
Hey there!!!!
Today’s blog post is a little recap of two of my recent newborn sessions: Ellie & Annabel. I am excited to write this for you because it will give me the chance to share some of my favorite shots from these galleries and I will get a chance to show you that you can still get those portraits, even though I’m no longer offering studio sessions. :) So, let’s dig in!!!
First, both of these little beauties were awake for their whole session. But they were both complete ham bones as well. They didn’t mind any of the moving and adjusting to get just the right shot and they made the absolute best faces. You’ll get to see those expressions in the pix I’m about to share.
But, the main reason I wanted to write this blog up for you guys is because I wanted you to see that I can still offer the same quality of work everyone is used to seeing from me. Whether I was shooting in my studio space or am now shooting in your home. The main difference, and I feel like it is actually the best part of the change, is that you don’t have to pack up to bring your brand new baby out because I come to you!
First up is Ellie.
Her grandma and parents were so kind and took some behind the scenes shots during her shoot. You’ll be able to see that if you’re looking for actual portraits and not a lifestyle session, I bring all my stuff to you. Sometimes families like to mix the two and we do the portraits of just baby and shoot a lifestyle session for the family and sibling part of the shoot. Or we do straight up lifestyle. So as you see, you have options when you book!
I’ll share the behind the scenes shots first for you below!!!
When I come to your home, after deciding which kind of session you want to book, you can see I come loaded with back drops, furs, props, wraps, bonnets, headbands, propping aids, my light, and gear. We create a mini studio that makes it so convenient for the client. Not to mention one of the biggest perks: the siblings are so much more comfortable. They are within their home. Snacks that you have and know are safe are readily available. They have toys to keep themselves busy when their camera time is done or while they’re waiting their turn. It’s a total win win!!
Check out some of my favorite captures from Ellie’s gallery below!
Next let’s take a peek at a Newborn Just the baby session in home. Little Annabel made the best faces for me and they are so cute. We did photos of just her (kind of like a newborn mini session). As you can see, they look just like they were done in studio.
What you should know is that I had to reschedule her session twice. I was sick the week before and in no way wanted to expose her or her family to any germs I had. Even though I was fine when we did finally shoot, I wore a mask just to be safe. I feel like being in their home to shoot the session was better and safer than bringing their entire family to my house than a studio session would have been. Even after disinfecting and cleaning, being home is just safer.
So, you see . . . even though I’ve changed the way I work this year, the end results are still the same pix that so many of my clients know me for!!! I just wanted to share some of the sessions I’ve shot and show you guys that I’m still the same old me ;) The Rapid City newborn photographer that has loved what she does and looks forward to cuddling more babies in the near future!!
I also wanted to let every one know that spring is springing FINALLY here in Rapid City and the surrounding Black Hills area! I would love to get out and capture some family sessions for you guys. Spring minis are still available for a couple of more weeks if anyone is interested in finding some beautiful locations to shoot at with me. The temps are warming up and the sun is out longer. Golden hour sessions are BACK!!!!! Message me HERE!!!!!!! Let’s shoot together!
Ok peeps! Until next time!
